The real matter of worries towards big sides/alliances etc is that at some level, depending on the general atmosphere or 'environment' of the game, if you're not able to survive longer than 5 mins because you're getting ganked as you're not a member of any of those 'big sides', there is indeed less freedom of play. You are indirectly obligated to join such a side. You are indirectly forced to align yourself with whoever leads a given faction, or risk getting booted regardless of how 'neutral' or indifferent they claim their org is.
I understand fully this is a mmo, nor am I aiming for some single player mode. Despite this, people much rather have such freedom option to get involved as loosely as they like, or dive straight in , rather than being obligated directly or otherwise. I intend to give it to them.

R5 Underboss (2/3) - Oversee and assist in day to day operations of each branch
R4 Base / Wing Captain - Directs day to day operations of bases and wings

R1 = Can visit public FEC bases and access all basic staff areas
R2 = Can visit private FEC bases and access docking bays
R3 = Can visit black site bases and access essential functions
R4 = Can manage bases, assign ships and jobs. Can kick lower ranked members.
R5 = Can manage black site and projects.
Development - Responsible for research and development.
Dauntless - Responsible for defense, and construction of bases.
Drifters - Responsible for exploration, recon/intel.

FEC was born from the desires to advance in science and exploration. To learn the universe's secrets, and to make them serve us. We must challenge ourselves to rise above the faults that caused us to leave our homeworld in the first place.
We must challenge ourselves to remember our errors of the past, and make sure that they do not haunt our future. We seek to embody the universe's truth, adapt or perish, so that we may prosper and not merely prolong the demise of man.

We will have little requirements. You can join loosely as a casual FECer or a hard core FECer, its up to you. Though higher and more critical positions/ranks will logically require more activity, work, and/or contribution. You will be expected to protect organization property and interests when needed. We will also have plans to utilize some form of voicechat (likely Discord) unless such a system is implemented ingame.
We will have casual RP (not mandatory). We will operate and work to maintain a organized but fun ANTI or REBEL- system/authority. We will attack/raid/defend and FEC things up of course, but that doesn't mean will tolerate a self destructive toxic environment, cheating/ooc hacking.
Expected numbers and size?-
Many may have questions about expected goal size of the org, and how large we plan to get. Right now, we're looking to fill 100 slots and no more, however this is dependent on if we implement activity policies, and if we plan to have ships with requiring a larger amount of crew members. It is far too early to say for certain how these systems will effect a desired atmosphere of final desired member count as the game is still in development. However, we can say for certain, we will aim for quality over quantity, a close-nit community, but one with enough to still get the job done.
